20 Jul 2016 - Nairobi, 20 July 2016 – Ministers of Defense from the Great Lakes region met in Nairobi on 20 July 2016 to review progress and challenges facing the efforts to neutralize negatives forces in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the region, as well as to further refine and reinforce the common strategy to cut-off their illegal trade activities in the region.

12 Jul 2016 - Goma, 12 July, 2016 – Members of the Women's Platform for the Peace, Security and Cooperation (PSC) Framework agreement for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the region met in Goma, eastern DRC, from 11 to 12 July 2016 to strengthen their potential in the implementation of the Framework and UN Security Council Resolution 1325 in relation to conflict resolution and peace building in Africa’s Great Lakes region.

20 Jun 2016 - Brazzaville, 20 June 2016 - Said Djinnit, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for the Great Lakes Region met with President Sassou Nguesso of the Republic of Congo in Brazzaville to discuss issues related to peace and security in the region, including most recent developments.

07 Jun 2016 - Nairobi, 7 June 2016 - Government delegations from Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia, hosts to over 3.4 million displaced persons from the Great Lakes region, met on 6-7 June 2016 to share experiences on initiatives they are taking to promote local integration as a solution for displaced persons.

26 May 2016 - Goma, eastern DRC, 26 May 2016 - The representatives of the Guarantors of the Peace, Security and Cooperation (PSC) Framework comprising of the United Nations (UN), the African Union (AU), the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), travelled to Kanyabayonga and Nyamilima on 25 May 2016, in eastern DRC.

25 Feb 2016 - Kinshasa, 25 February 2016 – The Democratic Republic of the Congo hosted a two day inaugural Great Lakes Private Sector Investment Conference. The Conference was co-organized by the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for the Great Lakes region and the International Conference on the Great Lakes on 24-25 February 2016.
