11 Nov 2016 -Nairobi (Kenya), 11 November 2016 - The International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) and the Office of the United Nations Special Envoy for the Great Lakes seek to follow up on recommendations made at a conference held in Nairobi on 19-20 April 2016 that aims to facilitate the administration of justice through judicial cooperation in the Great Lakes region.

14 Oct 2016 - Nairobi, 14 October 2016 - The Heads of State and Government of the signatory countries of the Peace, Security and Cooperation (PSC) Framework for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the region will hold the seventh high-level meeting of the Regional Oversight Mechanism (ROM) in Luanda, Angola, on 26 October 2016. The Summit will be preceded by a meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs on 24 October 2016 also in Luanda.

15 Aug 2016 - Nairobi, 15 August 2016 – United Nations Special Envoy for the Great Lakes region, Said Djinnit, condemns the massacre of at least 36 people, including women, in the area of Beni, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The attack, which is believed to have been carried out by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) took place in Rwangoma, near the central town of Beni, on 13-14 August 2016. The ADF, a rebel group of Ugandan origin operates mainly in eastern DRC.
