Special Envoy Djinnit, MONUSCO and ICGLR encourage the repatriation of FDLR combatants

Kisangani, 8 July 2015 In his ongoing visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) from 6 July, the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Great Lakes region, Saïd Djinnit, went to Kisangani this Wednesday, accompanied by the Deputy Executive-Secretary of the International Conference on the Great Lakes region (ICGLR), Vicente Muanda, and the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in the DRC, David Gressly, as well as representatives of the Congolese Government. They visited the Bauma transit camp managed by the Congolese Government where 790 people, including former FDLR combatants, their families and other dependents, are currently housed, as part of the voluntary disarmament of the FDLR.
