Bujumbura, 31 May 2021 – Today, the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Burundi (OSESG-B) officially closed, after more than four years of operations in the country.

The official ceremony was presided over by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for the Great Lakes Region, Mr. Huang Xia. In attendance were senior Government officials, representatives of political parties and civil society organizations, members of the diplomatic community, and the heads of UN agencies, funds and programmes in the country.
