The Chemical Weapons Convention enters into force for the Syrian Arab Republic.
The OPCW-UN Joint Mission commences the destruction of critical equipment with the aim to render inoperable, or “functionally destroy” chemical weapons production facilities, including mixing/filling plants by 1 November 2013.
